Terms of Use

1. Role of the platform

LocalSpot (“the platform”) is an online directory that lets users discover local tradies (“Providers”) and submit quote requests. The platform is not a party to any agreement, contract, or transaction between a user and a Provider, and does not employ, supervise, or sub-contract any Provider.

2. No vetting or endorsement

Listings are submitted directly by Providers. We do not verify Provider licences, professional qualifications, business insurance, police checks, identity, or work history, and do not endorse any Provider. Verification badges (where shown) reflect limited self-declared or Google Business Profile-matched information only and are not a guarantee of provider suitability, treatment quality, or physical safety.

3. Your responsibility before engaging a Provider

Before engaging a Provider or allowing any work to commence, you should independently verify the Provider's current licences, insurance, and suitability for the job. Scheduling, work performed, physical safety, refunds, and service disputes are solely between you and the Provider.

4. Bookings and cancellations

Quote requests made through the platform are forwarded directly to the Provider — the Provider is solely responsible for responding to, quoting, scheduling, or honouring any job. Quoting and cancellation policies (including notice periods or independent fees) are set entirely by each individual Provider and are completely outside our control. In the event of a no-show or a cancellation, any remedy or dispute resolution is strictly between you and the Provider.

5. Accurate information

You must provide accurate contact details (full name, email, phone number) when making a booking request. False, misleading, or fraudulent submissions may result in immediate removal and blocking from the platform. Providers are solely responsible for the accuracy of their own listed pricing and availability.

6. AI chat assistant

The platform includes an AI-powered chat assistant (“Assistant”) for general directory enquiries. The Assistant is powered by third-party artificial intelligence models via external APIs. Your chat text inputs are processed by these third-party systems. Responses are entirely AI-generated and may be inaccurate, incomplete, or out of date. Do not rely on them as professional, medical, skin-health, or legal advice. Do not share sensitive personal, financial, or medical information within the chat widget. The platform accepts no liability for any loss or injury arising from reliance on AI-generated responses.

7. No liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law (including the Australian Consumer Law where it applies), the platform accepts no liability for:

• the conduct, acts, treatments, omissions, or negligence of any Provider;
• the quality, workmanship, results, safety, or timeliness of work performed by a Provider;
• personal injury, property damage, or financial loss arising from your engagement with a Provider;
• the accuracy, completeness, or currency of scheduling information shown in any listing;
• loss or confusion arising from reliance on AI-generated content.

Nothing in these terms attempts to exclude, restrict, or modify statutory rights or consumer guarantees that cannot lawfully be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.

8. Prohibited use

• Submitting fake, malicious, or fraudulent booking requests;
• Scraping, harvesting, or automated data extraction of directory listings without explicit permission;
• Impersonating another person, customer, or trade business;
• Any platform use that violates state or federal Australian law.

9. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify the platform against any claim, loss, liability, or expense arising from your engagement with a Provider or your misuse of the platform, except to the extent directly caused by our own proven negligence or wilful misconduct.

10. Reporting unsafe or fraudulent providers

If you believe a listed tradie or provider is operating unsafely, fraudulently, without a required licence, or is presenting misleading information, please contact us immediately at support@localspot.au so we can investigate and take appropriate directory moderation action.

11. Privacy

Your use of the platform is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal customer information.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed exclusively by the laws of Australia.
